A library TA position is not a study hall free period. It is a class with expectations and varied work. TAs are expected to be on time, to stay until excused after the bell, to come to work with a 'can do' pleasant attitude, and not to neglect work tasks because of socializing. While there will be time TAs can use for studying and homework, it should not be relied upon, even right before a test or large assignment; there will be days when we need you to accomplish what we've asked. TAs are expected to ask for clarification or help when they need it, to start work without be prompted, and to pay attention to details and the quality of work product. Tasks range and vary but include: carrying and moving boxes and books, making deliveries, shelving books, processing books, craft projects, cleaning, dusting, and moving furniture. All TAs are expected to READ 500 pages of self-selected reading books, and submit reviews per semester. The library can be a fun and exciting place to work with rewarding experiences. Take some time to consider if this sounds like the right fit for you! If you have a special skill or interest let us know, we might be able to find a way to put it to use.
If interested, please come to the library to meet with Ms. Brockman & Ms. Robles
